“Four Noble Truths (arya sacca) are the briefest synthesis of the entire Teachings of Buddhism, since all those manifold doctrines of the threefold Canon  are included therein. They are : truth of suffering, of the origin of suffering, of the extinction of suffering and the Eightfold Noble Path leading to the extinction of suffering.

1.Dukkha: all forms of existence are unsatisfactory and subject to suffering : birth, decay, death, sorrow, lamentation, pain, grief and despair are suffering.

2. Tanha : all suffering and all rebirth is created by craving : sensual craving (kama tanha), craving for existence (bhava tanha), craving for non-existence or self-annihilation (vibhava tanha).

3. Nirodha: extinction of craving results in extinction (nirodha) of rebirth & suffering = nibbana.

4.Magga : extinction of suffering is accomplished by the Eightfold Noble Path which is wisdom (panna), morality (sila, Tib. Tsultrim) and concentration (Samadhi).

Suffering is compared with a disease; origin of suffering with cause of the disease; extinction of suffering with the cure of disease; the Path with the medicine.

8-fold Noble path is :

1.right view : understand the Four Noble truths

2.right thought : your mind must be free from sensual lust, ill-will and cruelty

3.right speech : abstain from lying, tale-bearing, harsh words and foolish babble

4.right action: abstain from injuring living beings, stealing & unlawful sexual intercourse.

5.right livelihood : abstain from wrong living and gain ( gambling, selling of alcohol, meat, drugs, weapons etc).

6.right effort : maintain virtuous states of mind and virtuous results

7.right mindfulness : avoid greed & grief and be mindful

8.right concentration : dwell in four absorptions

In this Visual Dharma we see the Stupa of Sarnath. Buddha`s teachings are timeless & always contemporary : we  see traffic at Budapest city , bridge over the river Danube and the Balaton lake.

II.Visionary Art : Wisdom without borders- Ars sacra*contemplative Art connects cultures, places, languages & musical expressions with mantra.  It is Healing Art & Visual Therapy.View it with relaxation & awareness.

Buddha Shakyamuni taught the 4 Noble Truths 7 weeks after his  Enlightenment  at Bodhgaya. He taught these Truths to 5 ascetic disciples at Sarnath, on the Dharmachakra day .

1.Truth of suffering must be fully understood

2.Truth of craving to be abandoned

3.Truth (Nibbana) to be realised

4.Truth of the Path to be cultivated

It is said in Visuddhi Magga XVI :

“Mere suffering exists, no sufferer is found. The deeds are , but no doer of the deeds is there. Nirvana is, but no traveler on it is seen.”

This is introduction of the doctrine of Anatta / egolessness, found only in Buddhism. On Mahayana Path Anatta is introduced as shunyata/voidness . On Vajrayana Path it is  introduced as 3 dimensions. In  Atiyoga Dzogpa chenpo it is introduced with the Base,Path,Fruit.

Buddha Manjushri said in ancient sacred text : Manjushri-nama-samgiti : “After I explained  three vehicles, I stand on the Fruit of One Vehicle”. All doctrines & orders of Buddhism are  essential Oneness.

This Visual Dharma is entitled the Dharma Wheel – Path of Peace, Happiness & Bliss. “Happiness is the indispensable condition for attaining concentration of mind (Samadhi). The mind of the happy one has concentration as its fruit and reward…In him who is filled with happiness, right concentration has found a foundation.”

May the Dharma wheel , related to the Heart chakra with 8-petalled Lotus, awakens your Heart*Bodhi Mind. May this Visual Dharma, empowered with the Sound*Light of Dharmata bring you peace, happiness and Bliss.

AND TO DAKINI SIAMUKHA.

HOMAGE TO AYU KHANDRO.

Ayu Khandro

I. Introduction:This Visual Dharma is created & published to benefit beings and to commemorate 57th anniversary of Ayu Khandro´s accomplishment of Rainbow Body beginning  on the Dakini day in the 1st month of miracles.

A rainbow body (Tibetan: Jalü or Jalus (Wylie ‘ja’ lus); Chinese: 虹光身 / 光蘊身;

the rainbow body is constituted by the Five Pure Lights.

All Visual Dharmas are empowered with the Sound*Light of Dharmata, providing Healing Art and Visual Therapy for the viewer. Study, Rate them 5*, share & embed them to your site for Blessing. Comment on them and favour them to increase your positive energy. Become part of the HERITAGE OF MANKIND.

II.Crystal Stupa: connecting symbol in this Visual Dharma is CRYSTAL STUPA as described in the dream by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu who wrote down Ayu Khandro´s life & liberation biography.

A stupa (from Sanskrit: m., स्तूप, stūpa, Pāli: थुप “thūpa”, literally meaning “heap”) is a mound-like structure containing Buddhist relics, once thought to be places of Buddhist worship, typically the remains of a Buddha or saint. In other Asian languages such monuments are called

    • chorten (Tibetan མཆོད་རྟེན༏ (Wylie: mchod rten), “dharma place/seat”)

    • chedi (Thai: เจดีย์, from the Pāli cetiya (चेतिय))

    • dāgaba (usually spelt “Dagoba”) (Sinhalese: ඩගොබ, from Sanskrit dhātu-garbha (दातुगर्भ) “relic-chamber” )

    • tope (Hindi: स्तूप, from the Sanskrit)

    • garbha (Sanskrit: गर्भ, meaning a storehouse or repository)

Words can not completely describe all spiritual qualities of accomplished masters like Ayu Khandro. For some she was emanation of Vajrayogini, for others emanation of White  Tara (Sanskrit: तारा, tārā).

❁‿↗⁀◎⊙ღ๑۩۞۩๑ღ⊙◎‿↗⁀❁ ཨ ཨ ཨ VAJRAYOGINI

In 1st part we see Tagdrol of the Vajra Song with Lineage masters of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism . At the end the Vajra appears with the Sound of Vajra. Liberation by remembrance. Turn your attention inside & discover primordial state.

Ayu Khandro´s Palden Tsawai Lama was Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo འཇམ་དབྱངས་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་

(1820-1892). We also see sacred image of White Tara, connected to hidden treasure of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, now at Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche´s monastery in Bir, India.

Terma teachings are ‘hidden teachings’  have been left by Padmasambhava (8th Century) and others for the benefit of future generations. Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo discovered Phagme Nyingthig (Tib. spelling: ‘chi med ‘phags ma’i snying thig, Innermost Essence teachings of the Immortal Bodhisattva [Arya Tārā]).

Her another Root Guru was Nyala Pema Dündul (1816-1872), also known as Terton Nyala Pema Duddul, was a teacher of Dzogchen and Tantric Buddhism in Eastern Tibet.

WISDOM DAKINI SIAMUKHA PROTECTION AMULET

As all tertöns / hidden treasure discoverers Ayu Khandro had  Mind-mandate transmission from Guru Padmasambhava. In this connection we see protection amulet of Wisdom dakini Siamukha. We focus on important periods in Ayu Khandro´s life: birth & young age, middle age with long pilgrimage and her very long meditation retreats in the dark.

Ayu Khandro performed the Yang-Ti (Tibetan), an advanced sadhana of the Dzogchen Upadesha in  the Dark Retreat. Sādhanā (Sanskrit साधना),

Her dharma brothers & sisters included Adzom Drukpa, Pema Yangkyi – her best friend on the pilgrimage. She accomplished Rainbow Body at the age of 74 while meditating in  the cave at sacred Mt. Kailash. For more than 10 years she was on pilgrimage with Togden Semnyid who was advanced Chödpa, Vajrakilaya and Dzogchen practitioner.

Chöd (Tibetan: གཅོདWylie: gcod (Tibetan: གཅོད་སྒྲུབ་ཐབས་ gcod sgrub thabs; Sanskrit: छेद साधना cheda-sādhana

They travelled with Togden Trulzhi who accomplished the Rainbow Body at the age of 83. In the youth Lhawang Gonpo taught her inner heat practice (Tummo) and living on air & mineral substances (Cud-len). Although this sublime Dharma practitioners did not have high status in Tibetan society of 19th and 20st Century, their accomplishment of Rainbow Body was supreme. They lived as yogis and yoginis, not in monasteries ! Being born on the Dakini day during the winter and beginning Tugdam contemplation on the Dakini day is very symbolic for the Woman of Wisdom. Crystal Stupa slowly disappearing in the sky toward the West also symbolizes Pure land of Buddha Amitabha. Five pure Lights of the Rainbow Body are represented by the Stupa. Ayu Khandro – Glorious Indestructible Diamond was  truly serving, upholding and protecting the teachings of Buddhas. May Her life & liberation story inspire you on your Path*Pilgrimage toward liberation and Enlightenment. May Her Blessings be present everywhere.

V. Notes

5.01 Nyingma  Vajrayana Atiyoga essence lineage in which Ayu Khandro practiced and taught the Dharma is described in Wikipedia :

Mañjushrīmītra (Tib. ‘jam dpal bshes gnyen)  classified all the Dzogchen teachings transmitted by his Guru  Prahevajra (Tib. Garab Dorje) into three series: Semde (Wylie: sems sde), Longde (Wylie: klong sde), and Mengagde.[1] Mañjushrīmītra’s student Shri simha re-edited the oral instruction class/cycle, and in this form the teaching was transmitted to Jñānasūtra and Vimalamitra. Vimalamitra tranmistted  the Mengagde teachings to Tibet in the 8th Century.”

Atiyoga*Dzogchen Lineage masters are presented in Visual Dharma: Tribute to Ayu Khandro.

5.02In Wikipedia there is an entry about Ayu Khandro. I corrected this entry little bit, simplifying the language and adding more facts.

“Ayu Khandro, formally Ayu Khandro Tsewang Dorje Paldrön (1839-1953) was a teacher of Dzogchen and Tantric Buddhism in East Tibet. She was a student of both Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and Nyala Pema Dündul.By many, Ayu Khandro was  an emanation  (not incarnation) of Vajrayogini. She has spent many dozen years in dark retreat and also practiced and taught a tantric long-life practice and was an adept chödpa.

She  transmitted her knowledge and gave empowerments to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche in 1951.

In 1953 she accomplished the Rainbow Body, beginning on the Dakini day in Bumjur Dawa – month of miracles.

5.03 The best of all gifts is the Gift of Truth.“

2.1.Gentle Rain of Nectar Blessings , Collected works, Vol VI.

Three Testaments of Vidyadhara Garab Dorje

Homage to immaculate Buddhas !
i.Introduction: Three Testaments of supreme Master Garab Dorje are thus revealed : this Visionary Dharma describes all 3 lineages of transmission as explained in Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism-Visual Dharma. To study, reflect, embed , share, favour, rate 5* and comment it beings great blessings it is empowered with the Sound*Light of the Ultimate nature. Treat this Visionary Dharma with great respect !
Three  Testaments are translated according to the meaning, not literally.
Supremely Blissful Vajra Vidyadhara Garab Dorje- was 1st human Master of Atiyoga*Dzogchen, born around 360 years B.C. after the Parinirvana of the Buddha. He was born at Dhanakosha in the country of Uddiyana (probably Swat valley in N Pakistan). As emanation of Sambhogakaya Buddha Vajrasattva he revealed 6.400.000 Dharmas which were later divided into Semde, Longde and Mengak-de teachings of Atiyoga*Dzogchen. Supreme Dharmas like 18 tantras of Upadesha are most sublime spiritual teachings in our galaxy. They exist in 13 other galaxies. This Dharmas will benefit beings until samsara is emptied. Garab Dorje taught 3 Testaments to his heart disciple Manjushrimitra when he was about to leave this world. Penetration of Sound root tantra (Tib. dra tal gyur) is 1st of 18 tantras it has close connection with 3 Testaments, because Penetration of Sound is the root of all Buddhas teachings. All 1002 Buddhas of this Fortunate Kalpa listened to Penetration of Sound and they will teach, one after another , from the Reverberation of that same Sound of Tathagatas. Thus is this Visionary Dharma inspired by the Penetration of Sound root tantra, for which Vidyadhara Vimalamitra wrote the commentary : sgra thal ‘gyur rtsa rgyud ‘grel sgron ma snang byed. Sound of Vajra is Vajra speech, non-dual Sound of all Tathagatas. In the Tagdrol sacred diagram we see Vajra song with Lineage masters: Samantabhadra Yab-Yum, Vajrasattva Yab-Yum, VidyadharaGarabDorje,Manjushrimitra,Shri Singha,Jnanasutra,Vimalamitra, Guru Padmasambhava and Khandro Yeshe Tshogyal. In the middle part there are Dharma verses & the mantra from the Guru sadhana of Garab Dorje , to inspire faith & devotion for this sublime Dharma of Garab Dorje. Khyentse Chökyi Lodro (1896-1959) wrote them according to his dream-pure vision. Sound of Vajra is great Clear Light Energy of primordial state. All ancient Masters of Atiyoga*Dzogpa chenpo accomplished Rainbow Body of great transfer. Thus we pray with fervent devotion. Atiyoga Lineage prayer invokes the blessings of primordialy pure Dharmakaya, Blissful Sambhogakaya and Compassionate Nirmanakaya Buddhas. Sound Vajra is the state of pure and total Presence, equally praised by all Teachers who have been the Light of the world, wrote Vidyadhara Manjushrimitra in his Dharma: Chang-chub kyi sem Gom-pa : Cultivating primordial state of pure and total presence.
ii. Practical instructions : Listen and view with awareness. When you hear the Vajra Sound, turn your attention inward and abide in the continuity of Sound*Light of Ultimate nature (Dharma-ta). It is liberation by bare attention-remembering the meaning of the Vajra Song which is Vajra Sound, great secret energy (Dang) of primordial state. Samadhi(contemplation, ting nge´dzin) of Sound was taught by Vidyadhara Vimalamitra (Drimé Shenyen) who is abiding at Wutai Shan mountains of China. Guru Rinpoche gave further advice how to practice supreme Path of Atiyoga*Dzogpa chenpo :Descend with the view and ascend with the conduct. May thus all meditators become vegetarians, saving themselves, the planet and all beings. Vidyadhara Shri Singha also advised not to practice Dzogchen with self-centered ambitions. May we all be in the state of commitment to what is indestructible Vajrasattva Sound of Vajra.
iii.Dedicated to all Masters who taught us great completeness of Atiyoga*Dzogpa chenpo, esp.Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, H.H. the Dalai Lama, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu,Ayang Rinpoche, Ontrul Rinpoche  and many others. May our awareness become liberated into the state of the Guru Vidyadhara Garab Dorje. We offer this Visionary Dharma , prepared in the special month of Bumjur Dawa, to the Lotus-feet of the Buddha.

Lian Hua – USA . What mantras do you think it is okay to chant without receiving lung or empowerment?

Mantras that are presented in Visual Dharmas are very beneficial to chant even without receiving lung (reading transmission from the Lama) or empowerment. Mantra of Buddha Vajrakilaya requires lung or empowerment – as other mantras of wrathful deities. If one would like to go deeper into the sadhana and understanding of mantra is good to ask for lung or empowerment from the Lama, who is vegetarian, has pure Buddhist vows and lineage , has wisdom and compassion. Mantras are Speech of Wisdom Deities . They must be respected as such. Dharma practitioners  can ask for  appointment for my Dharma counselling online , on Skype. May your diligent Dharma practice bring you peace, joy, health , prosperity and  swift progress on spiritual path toward liberation and Enlightenment.

devilwillcryle OM MANI PADME HUM

Hello, Isn’t OM MANI PADME HUM used for exorcism and to gather the surrounding energy into our body? The reason that I am asking is that I have a step uncle, he is an exorcist. I heard he repeated this statement over and over.Thanks.

Maybe you misunderstood why your step uncle is repeating the mantra OM MANI PADME HUM. This mantra is in Sanskrit language and is closely connected with Avalokiteshvara Buddha of compassion. The meaning of mantra is explained in the teaching , related to Visual Dharma about Avalokiteshvara Buddha. It purifies all six realms of existence : hell realm, hungry ghost realm, animal realm, human realm, demi-gods realm and god´s realms. It is very healing to chant OM MANI PADME HUM every day, with devotion and concentration, as shown in Visual Dharma-Buddhist teaching for 3rd millennium.

theravster09Australia
Hi! I was playing this video over again and was reading the script (towards the end) which was of
interest, “How To Relief The Suffering of The World?”. So how can one do this, for the world? Thanks.

“HOW TO RELIEF THE SUFFERING OF THE WORLD ?” is question in E-learning curriculum of this Visual Dharma. By invoking the Blessings of Medicine Buddhas-by chanting their names-OM SANGYE MENLA- with concentration and devotion, one reduces the suffering of the world, step by step, dedicating the merit of this spiritual practice to all beings.

Homage to Medicine Buddhas .

Subspace4dGermany-has made a comment on AMITABHA- BUDDHA OF INFINITE LIGHT:

Can you tell me what color of light you take when you die to go to heaven? I mean not rebirth but assention.

NAMO AMITABHA This Visual Dharma teaches you how to come to Buddha Amitabha Pure land, not rebirth in heaven or circling in samsara´s cyclic existence. Just develop faith in Buddha Amitabha, recite His name  and you will surely know His Infinite Light.

Dear venerable  , please enjoy my questions , thank you .
In the round of Samsara that beings go through , regardless of the plane they live and die in , the process of being reborn , getting old , sick , dying and being reborn again had been tediously timeless . All beings undergo these process many times in as many great kappas .
Q.162 – How many years are one kappa ?
Q.163 – If Kappa is a measure of time in Samsara , how many kappas are one samsara’s cycle? May peace , happiness be upon you always ! nuttier

These are questions from Buddhist cosmology. In Buddhism, a kalpa generally indicates the length of time between the creation  and recreation of the world or the universe, spanning the period of a world´s formation, existence, destruction and non-existence. There are different interpretation of measurement of a kalpa in Buddhism. It often simply denotes a very long period of time, similar to aeon. There are small, medium, great, and incalculable kalpas. Small kalpa would be equivalent to 16.8 million years and a large or great kalpa 1.247 million.

From this quotation from the Seeker´s glossary of Buddhism (Buddha Edu. Foundation, Taiwan, 1998) we can understand that samsara or cyclic existence is almost infinite, when we see samsara as something external or as collective samsara with six realms of existence of sentient beings. More subtle understanding of samsara relates to individual samsara of individual sentient being, for example human being with five skandas or aggregates. When meditator successfully purifies his/her aggregates into five Dhyani Buddhas, as instructed in high inner Vajrayana Dharma, one transcends samsara. For such meditator or great Bodhisattva there is no more samsara. Bodhisattvas of 8th bhumi / level already have hundres of emanations who teach the Buddha Dharma and  can help sentient beings.

JETSUN MILAREPA ๑ღჱܓ•♫♪• SONG OF LOVE AND COMPASSION

Heritage of Mankind

JETSUN MILAREPA : SONG OF LOVE AND COMPASSION

Homage to Buddha Vajradhara, Tilopa, Naropa, Marpa Lotsawa, Milarepa, Gampopa. May this noble offering of Visual Dharma, created for the anniversary of Jetsun Milarepa, be pleasing to the Buddhas of the past. By reflecting, praying, meditating, favouring, rating 5*, sharing, commenting & embedding your positive Light energy increases. Send the Song of Love & Compassion throughout the world and take part in the Heritage of mankind.
I. Alive Dharma : Any sentient being who has heard the name Milarepa even once and in whom it awakened veneration, will not be reborn in lower realms for seven life times. This was prophesied by the Buddhas of the past. Jetsun Milarepa (1040-1123) is the most revered Buddhist mystic, poet and yogin who never founded any monastery. His life was very difficult and lead him from one remore area to another in S Tibet. For most of his adult life he lived in caves, surviving on whatever he was offered by local villagers or grew round about. He was known and loved by the songs he composed and sang to the people which poetically expressed his insights into the truths of Buddha Dharma. His main disciples were his attendant Rechungpa and the physician Gampopa. With this Visual Dharma we pay homage to all-present Lama Jetsun, as he was called by disciples. He sang this Song to Geshe Tsakpuhwa at the village of Drin. Geshe handed to him text on Buddhist logic and asked for explanation, word by word. The Master replied : You know very well the conceptual meaning of this text. But real spiritual meaning is found in abandoning eight worldly reactions and the personal ego, through destroying false perception of reality by realizing the single flavour of samsara and nirvana and through meditating in mountain solitudeArguing over words and pointing out what comes after that is totally useless if one does not practice the Dharma. I never studied logic. I know nothing about it and if I ever did, I forgot it now. I will tell you why. Listen to this Song. Thus he spoke and began to sing the Song of Love and Compassion. His spiritual Songs are timeless, but his advice is contemporary. His words arose spontaneously while listening the Sound of the Universe, as portrayed here. His Blessings pervade everywhere so that we can still listen to his Songs while turning our attention inward. This great joyful Song is accompanied by the mystic dance of the Dakini, the Sky Dancer. Milarepa can truly teach us what Faith and devotion mean : praying from the great energy of naturallness. His meditational deity Chakrasamvara liberated him from he coarse world of the senses . Those who practice secret mantrayana don´t debate. They don´t engage in doctrinal polemics & in pleasing unvirtuous relatives and friends. Have compassion, but no emotional hang-ups toward them, is Jetsun Milarepa´s advice. Contemplate that which is uncompaunded like the Sound*Light of Dharmata, as the Master did in the solitude of Himalayas. Your body is monastery , a temple. Respect it always beccome a vegetarian and save the planet !
II. Questions & answers : HH the Dalai Lama said when he answered questions in Dharamsala, Nov 2009 :
Is it permissible for Buddhists to eat meat ? The best is to give up meat completely. Festivals and ceremonies in all Tibetan monasteries & nunneries should be completely vegetarian.
Is it better to pray in one´s own language or in Tibetan ? It is better to pray in one´s own language.
P-S. Visual Dharmas are great help in this regard they have English translations .

SHITRO –KHORDAS RANGDROL Teaching retreat by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche, Merigar, Italy, Oct 23-30,2009 . Open web cast (Open audio streaming).

Secret Sound and Peaceful * wrathful manifestations

From 1989 – 1996 when I listened many Dzogchen teachings from Semde, Longde and Upadesha series of Dzogchen nobody of us could imagine that after ten and more years there will be open web cast of these precious teachings. As previously – now I also wrote down aroudn 38 pages of text for my  references and study. Since I began with regular practice of Shitro sadhana of tertön Mingjur Dorje in 1990 , it was interesting to listen to another Shitro practice which Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche received from his root Guru Rigdzin Changchub Dorje . He was one of legendary Dzogchen masters who accomplished the Rainbow body in Tibet (20. Century).

For eight days Chögyal Namhkai Norbu Rinpoche transmitted precious Dharma , teaching in English for two hours a day. Students could learn about karma : cause, condition and effects, difference between meditation and contemplation, development and accomplishment stage in Nyingma school of Vajrayana Buddhism, diffrence between old school (Nyingma) and new schools (Sarma schools : Kagyu, Sakya, Geluk).

Shitro Khordas Rangdrol means natural liberation of samsara and nirvana . It is Anuyoga practice. I appreciate Rinpoche´s dilligent right efforts in explaining the methods of Nyingma Anuyoga practice which is non-gradual transformation. The knowledge about manifesting potentiality of the seed belongs to three inner yogas of Nyingma Vajrayana, namely Maha, Anu and Atiyoga. In new schools there are different methods of mother and father tantras.  Since in our Atiyoga lineage of Nyingma Vajrayana our main practice is discovering and resting in immediate presence of the Sound*Lights of Dharmata (Tib. Chönyid kyi rangdra) I was esp. interested to hear Rinpoche´s explanation about sound/light/rays as written also in the Bardo prayer by Guru Padmasambhava.Rinpoche expained :

“The Base means three primordial wisdoms : essence, nature, energy…Sound/light/rays = potentiality . Khadak = primordial purity of voidness + potentiality/Lhundrup… Dzogchen is called Atiyoga… Ati = primordial state. .. Contemplation in Atiyoga is practiced with open eyes, because seeing is ornament of natural state.” Rinpoche also taught Upadesha of six qualifications :

1.the Base  is primordialy pure (Khadak), manifesting potentiality (Lhundrup)

2.be at ease in the Base (Shi or Xi)

3.Lhundrup (potentiality) manifests as wisdom

4.Dharmakaya manifestations are five Wisdom lights

5.naturaly liberated state is instant presence, primordialy pure

6.our real nature (instant presence) is Dharmakaya. Inner clarity (nang-tsal) is like the lamp in the vase, not shining outside. Adzom Drukpa used explanation of thing-tsal : deep clarity (the same meaning as nang-tsal).

This deep clarity is Samantabhadra Buddha of dark blue light. His consort Samantabhadri is light blue/white light. From them infinite lights shine, manifesting 42 peaceful and 58 wrathful manifestations of Sambhogakaya. Rinpoche explained about three primordial potentialities : Sound/Light/Rays . There is outer sound, inner sound and secret Sound. In Atiyoga instant presence means presence of secret Sound which is state of Dzogchen.

“Shitro sadhana is practiced with Nyi-med method : non-dual of development and accomplishment stage. Real Vajrasattva is our primordial state. Real condition of Vajrasattva is Dharmakaya – he represents 100 manifestations as potentiality (Lhundrup). .. Khadak=voidness /Dharmakaya / peaceful  manifestations…Lhundrup =wrathful manifestations”. Rinpoche also explained  about Shitro practice of tertön Karma Lingpa (which I received from H.E.  Ayang Rinpoche in 1996).

Chögyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche  lead extensive Chang chö – purification ritual for deceised , with purification of six lokas and phowa practice. Precious explanation about four contemplations of Dzogchen followed together with symbolic teachings : Thigle chenpo (Rainbow sphere) with A in the centre is the symbol of Dharmakaya. Infinite primordial potentiality of Dharmakaya manifests as Sound/Light/Rays which is direct introduction to the natural state of Dzogchen. Rinpoche shortly taught about dark retreat experiences : “From Sound develops five wisdom lights of Thigle. This is essential Atiyoga/Dzogchen…” According to the Buddha : samadhi or contemplation (Tib. Ting-nye-dzin) means Guru Yoga. Samadhi (instant presence – of the secret Sound) brings greater merit as other virtuous deeds. It is great purification…Purification is very important practice. We face obstacles of negative emotions, negative karma, of dualistic visions…Purification si like dissolving clouds in the sky…With purification we accomplish Dharmakaya, Sambhogakaya and Nirmanakaya realisations. “ Nagarjuna did not support eating meat of sentient beings which are like our mother. Infinite negativities are accumulated by eating meat , said Master Nagarjuna. Rinpoche mentioned first vision in Thogal practice of contemplation : seeing Rainbow sphere in the sky (1) About such precious experiences  Rinpoche said : “If one have such experience  during life time, it is important for the Bardo of Dharmata (Chönyid bardo). Before ordinary bardo (Sipa bardo) there is natural light of the Bardo of Dharmata. There is no function of the mind, but there is Sound/Light/Rays. In that state practitioner meats mother –wisdom. With experiences  of Sound/Light/Rays practitioner recognises mother – wisdom in the bardo of Dharmata and accomplish Sambhogakaya realisation. … There is no ordinary bardo for you any more. But your manifestations can be in six lokas ! Without purification there is no Sambhogakaya realisation…Origin of higher tantras is through Sound and Light. Mahasiddhas receive transmissions through Sound and Light. Later they developed oral transmissions.” (2)

On the last day of the Teaching retreat Rinpoche graciously granted lung/reading transmissions of 22 Dharma practices ! He also explained some of them (Green Arya Tara etc.) This was followed by short Thun practice in relaxed, harmonious and present way***** At the end we exchanged great joyous applause with all Dzogchen practitioners gathered in Merigar gompa- Temple of great liberation (3)

Dedication :

May through these Dharma pith instruction all sentient beings be soon liberated into six spheres of Samantabhadra Buddha.

May the Lotus feet of compassinate  Dzogchen master remain firm upon the earth.

GENTLE RAIN OF NECTAR BLESSINGS

Vol. V

TSOG OFFERING

TSOG OFFERING VERSE by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche II. (1904-1987) is 42. Visual Dharma published on our Buddhist channel of Youtube, to benefit beings limitless as the sky. This is sacred Buddhist text & must be treated with respect. Embeding brings enlightened energy to you, your place and the planet.

Essentials : Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche was supreme principal of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism & one of greatest mystics of 20. Century. This Visual Dharma is devoted to the continuation of Dudjom Rinpoche´s Dharmas upholded by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche III. Pema Ösel , born in 1990 who wrote :

“With the compassionate Blessings of Guru Padmasambhava,

I pray that the Three wheels of Study, Practice and Activities

Of the doctrines of Clear Light of Dzogpachenpo

may be accomplished without any obstacles.” (1)

Making offerings (skt. Ganachakra, Tib. Tsog) to the Three Roots of Refuge (Lama,YidamKhandro) is one of ten enlightened activities as taught by Guru Padmasambhava. Special days for Tsog are : 10. lunar day of Guru Rinpoche & 25. the Dakini day. To accumulate merit and wisdom this Condensed Tsog should be recited daily. One should not practice Atiyoga Dzogpachenpo in self-centered style, as self-centered buddhas (rang-gyal)(2), just wrongly using Dzogchen terminology. One must have previous proper training (in previous lives or in this life) of Mahayana & Vajrayana Buddhist Path, to undestand natural awareness (rang-rig) or Rigpa. To say in computer language : Dharmakaya is not your private domain.

Wisdom Dakini dictated this supreme Verse to Dudjom Rinpoche in a dream, 1933 in Tibet.  It is  Upadesha – innermost secret cathegory – Todgal teachings of Dzogpachenpo. All-knowing Longchenpa wrote about Visions of clarity (Odsal gyi nang-wa) : “In this practice , one actualises the primordialy and spontaneously accomplished result in this very lifetime” (3). How to reverse delusive appearances into primordial ground (Dharmakaya) is taught by Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa, explaining the Four natural contemplations (Chog-zhag) : In the spontaneous accomplishment with form (Lhundrub Thodgal), having reversed (zlog) the delusions through such training as the “threefold glances” (zigs-tang), one meditates on perfecting the Fourfold Visions (Nang-zhi)…Lochen Dharma Sri summarizes : Relying on six crucial means of training, the four Visions arise gradually. They are :

1.Direct realisation of ultimate nature (Chonyid gon-sum)

2.Development of Experiences (Nyam Gong-phel)

3.Perfection of intrinsic awareness (Rigpa Tsad-Phebs)

4.Dissolution of phenomena into ultimate nature (Chonyid zad-pa).

Those Atiyoga meditators who were already directly intoduced to the naturaly liberated Sound*Light of Dharmata (Chonyid kyi rang-dra) in the Atiyoga Dzogpachenpo essence lineage, contemplate in silence before and after singing Tsog offering verse, to develop the Experiences. During four successive Visions the Four empowerments of Great perfection are received. PENETRATION OF SOUND DZOGCHEN TANTRA (4) also teaches precisely about the Four Visions, leading to enlightenment in the primordialy pure Youthful Vase Body (zho-nu bum-pa´i  ku), great Buddha dimension of Reality. Dudjom Rinpoche II. wrote in a Prayer of Calling the Lama from afar :

“The essence is the primordially unchanging nature, free from mental activity.

Dwelling in the primordially pure Youthful Vase Body

Of profound inner luminosity,

Dharmakaya Lama Yeshe Dorje, care for me;

Please bestow the blessing of obtaining great confidence in the View.”

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS : watergrass5150 , USA, sent these questions :

“The monkey notice Buddha had reached the enlightment stage. He decided to bring buddha an offering. The monkey grab some honey combs and buddha rejects the offering saying babies bees are still alive and will not accept it. The monkey went back grab a sharp stick and started to poke all the babies bees. After killing and cleaning all of it from the combs, he filled the combs with sweet honey. He then went back to buddha and this time buddha accept the offering.
The monkey was so happy that he went on swinging from tree to trees. Shortly the monkey accidently fell down from one of the branches and landed on a sharp deaded stick. He was dead in an instant. When buddha heard about it he started to pray and suddenly the monkey spirit when up to heaven and reincarnated as one of the human’s angel. “
1. Did we see the monkey as a being who wants to please buddha or trying to please himself?
We see capricious monkey trying to please the Buddha and also himself. Monkey is portrayed in Samatha or Shine practice (calm abiding) as the capricious mind, jumping from one object of perception toward another object. It represent restless, wandering thoughts. Restless mind often perform unvirtuous karma of killing (refers also to eating meat !).

2. Why didn`t the monkey spare the lives of those bees?

Because he think only on himself and how he will make a gift to the Buddha. He don´t think on consequences of unproper offering.  Restless mind is not aware of consequences of his doing. Restless mind lack clarity and awareness. It is said in Buddhist teachings : Mindfulness is the foundation of Dharma path. Therefore we don´t offer to the Buddhas anything that causes harm to sentient beings.
3. Did the monkey die shortly as to maybe a bad karma the way he killed those bees?
He died soon after he killed other sentient beings (the bees). Other religions also teach : As you sow thus shall you reap. This is universal law of cause, condition and consequences/effects. We must saw seeds of virtuous karma, creating merit, to become enlightened.

4. Why did buddha have compassion for the monkey? What about those babies bees?
Because he presented honey offering to the Buddha thus making connection with the Enlightened One. Buddha is also impartial in helping sentient beings, like the Sun who shines equaly on all. But it´s our virtuous or unvirtuous karma which allow us or prevent us to receive His guidance and compassionate help.

5. Why did the monkey get such a high rewards for his death?

Monkey made some merit by offering to the Buddha . Being reborn as an angel is not “reward”  but consequence of his karma. Being reborn in upper realms of samsara is good, but it is not yet liberation from cyclic existence. In the Chinese classic : Journey to the West – monkey also represent arrogance.

II. WISDOM WITHOUT BORDERS

June 26 : International day against the misuse of drugs. As anyone knows : the use of tobacco, alcohol, meat and drugs is prohibited by Buddhist ethics (pratimoksha vows –pancasila ) taught by Buddha Shakyamuni and many enlightened Buddhist masters throughout 2500 years of history. Some readers may feel little bit offended when we point this out again and again in our Teachings and answers. But we will not change this ethical precepts only to please general public . Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche-the root Guru of Dudjom Rinpoche III. and His Eminence Sagar Rinpoche (Nepal) also teach the same. Dudjom Rinpoche II. wrote a treatise about harmful effects of tobacco and drugs. We all need to raise public awareness about harmful effects of drugs (and other poisons) which diminish mind´s clarity, obstructing Enlightenment.

June 27 : UNESCO Heritage of humanity : Congratulations to Mt. Wu Tai in China, with many Buddhist temples from 1.-20. Century A.D. for becoming Heritage of humanity, protected by the Unesco. We rejoice ! It is said that Atiyoga Dzogchen Master Vimalamitra resides invisibly  at the  five peaks of  Wu Tai, sacred to Buddha Manjushri, the Buddha of wisdom.
