As so many of us we could not withheld tears and tears … Rinpoche entered Thugdam meditation on 17th day of 9th lunar month at 9 pm in the Earth Dog year … Dzogchen Ati yoga practices continued at Merigar temple of great liberation every day lead by Adriano Clemente , Elio Guarisco and other Vajra brothers and sisters . Hundreds of practitioners gather at the temple and very many of us are following webcast from our homes . Its a sublime time … I could observe sadness on our faces for two days , and deep contemplative stillness and gratitude already on thirs day of intensive meditations and contemplations .

Word can not encompass the feelings and experiences at such sublime times : Bodhisattva are leaving this saha world one after another , treaching us impermanence and awaken us toward more awareness and the need of complete liberation from samsara : few years ago great Dzogchen master Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche ascended to Sukhjavati pure land of Amitabha Buddha (at the age of 102 ); after him my precious Palden Tsawai Lama Kyabye Thinley Norbu Rinpoche left this saha world and came back in Bhutan ; on August 27th 107 our beloved Vajra Brother Mangala Konchok Norbu ascended to Amitabha pure land and exactly thirteen months after him precious Tsawai Lama Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche left this saha world … As we wrote in the Visual Dharma : Life is so impermenent , but our Buddha nature is unceasing … Contemplate the secret Sound of your Buddha nature in unimpeded continuity …

  • How did I met Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche :

It was twenty nine years ago at the small gompa of Merigar in Toscany: big temple of great liberation did not yet exist at that time in June 1989 . Even before physical meeting with Rinpoche he wrote us very beautiful letter from Formia where he lived at that time … After twenty nine years of Ati Yoga practice I am still very inspired by those sublime Ati Yoga sadahanas, Invocations of Guru Garab Dorje , Vajrasattva mantras , Vajra song , Vajra Guru mantras … I could write so much more , but let the Visual Dharma Art that I created inspire everyone on the Path of Liberation .

Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche was one of those rare Dzogchen masters who taught about Secret Sound of Dharmata . I often asked Rinpoche to teach about contemplation of Secret Sound and he very gaciously taught from Dra Thal Gyur Tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha , giving reading transmission (Tib. Lung) on open webcast to hundreds of meditators  from around the world .

From the description : “ .”The Great Perfection, also known as the Atiyoga or Dzogchen (rDzogs chen), is a tradition of esoteric Buddhism that propounds instantaneous enlightenment and was first brought to Tibet in the Eighth Century of the Common Era. The Indian manuscripts of this tradition have been lost in time, and only the Tibetan translations remain. The original teachings of this tradition are contained in books called Tantras, and are generally divided into three categories: The Mind Section, the Space Section, and the Upadesha Instruction Section. The Upadesha Instruction section is devoted to the pointing out instructions or practical advice in the understanding and application of the Great Perfection. It is generally described as having seventeen root scriptures. The Jewel Maker here translated is considered to be the source for the other sixteen Tantras, which form the body of the seventeen works. Translator Chris Wilkinson send me a copy of his English translation of Dra Thal Gyur tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha ,
published on October 2017 and available on Amazon .
The translator dedicated it to all teachers and students of Dzogchen .

The book has 299 pages .
Original of Dra Thal Gyur root tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha is in Sanskrit , entitled : Sabda Tadratra Maha Ratnakara Tantra Nama which was translated into Tibetan as : Rin po che ‘byung bar byed pa sgra thal ‘ gyur chen po’i rgyud ces bya ba . Christopher Wilkinson translated the title into English as : The Jewel Maker : the Great Tantra on the Consequence of Sound .

Master Vimalamitra is the only one who wrote commentary on Dra Thal Gyur tantra or Reverberation of Sound .Vimalamitras commentary is preserved at Khatok monastery in East Tibet . REVERBERATION OF SOUND is the root of all Buddhist Dharma . Reverberation of Sound (Dra Thal Gyur) is connected to 16 other Dzogchen Upadesha tantras . We need to see this display diametrical as a cicle , not horizontal . DRA THAL GYUR tantra in the centre and names of 16 other Upadesha tantras around .

To maintain Mind transmission / Blessings of the Buddhas through the Natural Sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chönyid kyi rangdra) there are A-ti Yoga retreats at special places , supporting Contemplation / Samadhi.

1.2. the Importance of Dra Thal Gyur tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha is well explained by Chogyal Namkahi Norbu Rinpoche
who gave reading transmission or lung of Dra Thal Gyur tantra on open webcast from Dzamlingar , Teneriffe; 08-10 May 2015 :« Dra Thalgyur (sgra thal ‘gyur) is the abbreviated title of the Dzogchen Upadesha Tantra named rin po che ‘byung bar byed pa sgra thal ‘gyur chen po’i rgyud. Guru Garab Dorje re-transmitted this tantra about 300 years before Jesus was born. The Dra Thalgyur has 6 chapters with a total of 168 questions & answers in about 200 folios. These questions include everything we always wanted to know about Dzogchen but did not know how to ask. It is the most important Dzogchen text but it is very difficult and condensed. During a period of about 3 years, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu edited 2 editions of Vimalamitra’s commentary on the Dra Thalgyur. Korde Randrol (‘khor ‘das rang grol) means the self-liberation of samsara and nirvana. We are very fortunate that Chögyal Namkhai Norbu will transmit these profound teachings. (Jim Valby, 2013)«
There is a team of translators at Shang shung institute lead by Elio Guarisco who is also in the process of translating Dra Thal Gyur tantra into English .

Every Buddhist sacred text can be understood on four levels : outer, inner, secret and most secret . Upadesha in this sense means most secret category of Ati yoga Dzogchen (Tib. Managde) .Upadesha means secret instructions fort he Ati yoga Buddhist practitioners /contemplators to achieve Rainbow body … Every translator will translate it according to his own level of understanding . Most profound translation would come from a Translator who has Direct transmission of the Buddhas , as explained in the above quotation :
»“The Mind transmission of the buddhas of three times is known as a transmission through blessings – naturally perfect blessings of all buddhas of the past and the future and of those who reside in the present. Independent of articulated words this transmission is understood and realized through the natural Sound of Dharmata.”
Tibetan translators who worked with master Vimalamitra on the second of floor of the Samye temple in 8th Century Tibet , among them Kawa Paltseg , surely had direct transmission of the Buddhas . It was precisely Dzogchen master Vimalamitra who brought Dra Thal Gyur tantra to Tibet and contained it in his Vima Nyingthig lineage of Ati Yoga Dzogchen .

1.3. How to practice secret Sound of our True nature ?
Dzogchen master Longchenpa wrote three sections of Semdzins :
a) the mind finds the calm state
b) overcoming attachment to body and mind
c) understanding the real condition of existence
In the cathegory »Overcoming attachment to body and mind » we find Semdzin of the Sound .
Ideally it would be that the Translator listen to the Natural Sound of the Dharmata while translating Dra Thal Gyur root tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha .
Chris Wilkinson has done great Service to the Dharma by translating Dra Thal Gyur tantra into English and publishing it in uncomplicated format available to all . Its especially good that he included Tibetan text :

1.4. Personal experiences with the Sound contemplation :
According to my reseach over thirty years of Buddhist study and practice all vehicles of Buddhist Dharma have some relation with the Sound : they understand the Sound from outside to inside , gradually deepening the understanding of innate Buddha nature or Tathagatagharba in ourselves . I began to be very interested in the Sound meditation already in 1987 when reading Mind seal of the Buddhas , an important Chan/Zen text of ancient masters . When I read : The Sound of Tathagatas is therefore unimpeded …« I immediately »woke up« and began my search for Buddhist teachers who could somehow transmit or awaken this Knowledge in me …
Perfect lineage of the Unimpeded Sound of Dharmata /Penetration of Sound comes from Samantabhadra Buddha Dharmakaya , to Vajrasattva Buddha Sambhogakaya , to Nirmanakaya Buddha Garab Dorje and to lineage holders such as Vimalamitra, Padmasambhava , Yeshe Tshogyal…. Longchenpa , Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche .

I especially asked again and again Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche about the Sound contemplation and studied with him with this aim from 1998-2006 .
☼ ཨ ๑۩۞۩๑ OM SVASTI : Precious Tsawai Lama Thinley Norbu Rinpoche – who transmitted Ati yoga Dzogchen lineage to me in Spring 2001, is now reincarnated in Bhutan..Rinpoche wrote Long-life prayer for me on the Dakini day, March 30, 2000 , after performing special puja . “May we rejuvenate the Wisdom Body and abide forever with immeasurable Buddhas.” Eighteen years have passed since then : I am doing my best to uphold endangered Lineage of the Natural sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chonyid kyi rangdra) from the Nyingma Essence (Tib. Ngowo) dimension . 1.5. The Aim
Of this Dharma dharma discurse it to make the Lineage of Dra Thal Gyur root tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha alive in this world . Penetration of Sound sacred Buddhist text should never become intellectual discussion among different kinds of scholars or monks in the debates . Since Lord of Refuge Shakyamuni Buddha is also Lineage holder of the Penetration of Sound , this sacred text must be threated with uttermost Respect and appreciation . Garab Dorje was emanation of both Shakyamuni Buddha and of Padmasambhava . Shakyamuni Buddha is among Twelve Dzogchen Buddhas ….

»Concerning the holders of this illuminating doctrine (of the great perfection9 during this present age , it says in the Root tantra of the penetration of Sound (sgra thal-‘gyur rtsa-ba’i rgyud , NGB Vol. 10):
After I have passes into nirvana,
In the western land of Oddiyana ,
The divine lady of Dhanakoša
Will bear a fatherless son , Vajra-He;
Who will uphod the genuine teaching.«

We can understand that Garab Dorje or Prahevajra was emanation of Shakyamuni Buddha and of Padmasambhava . He brought to our human realm six millions hundred thousands Dzogchen Ati yoga tantras . His main teaching is found in the Three statements , contained in Visual Dharma :

1.6. How are the Three testaments of Garab Dorje connected to the Penetration of Sound root tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha ?


1.Recognise your Nature : to recognise our True nature one needs Direct introduction to the Natural Sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chonyid kyi rangdra) . Since the Natural sound of Dharmata (Tib. Chonyid) is inherent part of us , primordially present in us , primordially pure (Tib. Kadak) and spontaneously present (Tib. Lhundrub) , gifted contemplators can turn their attention inward and contemplate Primoridally pure Sound . This is especially true in very relaxed state : relaxation is part of Ati yoga Dzogchen Trekcho practice . Contemplating Natural Sound of Dharmata happens effortlesly as part of Ati yoga Dzogchen Todgal contemplations (first vision of Todgal). From first vision we develop contemplation of the Secret Sound further ….
These instructions are related to the second Statement of Garab Dorje :

Don*t remain in doubts and Third Statement : Continue in that state .
Dzogchen master Longchen Rabjam taught that Trekcho and Todgal of Dzogchen Ati yoga must be practiced as a Unity . Contemplating Natural sound of Dharmata – our pure Nature gives us perfect opportunity to do so.

We created Visual Dharma/video Nyingma Vajrayana which gives us perfect explanation about Three lineages of transmission in Nyingma Vajrayana ,
beginning with primordial Buddha Samantabhadra/Samantabhadri (Dharmakaya), Vajrasattva Buddha with Consort (Sambhogakaya) and Guru Garab Dorje (Nirmanakaya) . You may read about Ati yoga Dzogchen at the age of Thirty –three , but it needs many years of diligent Dharma practice, devotion to the Buddhas, accumulation of merit and wisdom to actually directly undertand how Ati yoga is your own primordial State . This is well explained in the Base-Path-Fruit of Ati yoga Dzogchen so clearly presented  in the Wish-granting prayer of Samantabhadra Buddha (Tib. Kunzang Monlam) .

Without faith one can not recognise one*s own primordial state : Shakyamuni Buddha said himself : »For people without (deep)faith its impossible to recognise their own Buddha nature , the same like we can not expect the sprout from the burned seed… » Faith is this sunlight that helps our Buddha nature to awaken , to sprout… Then we need the Path accumulation of merit and wisdom , removing our negative karmic traces , like purifying river sand from the grains of gold … We are going deeper and deeper into understanding and accomplishing our Primordial state of Dharmakaya , united with Three primordial wisdoms : Sound-Light-Rays . Chogyal Namkai Norbu gives clear explanation about three modes of energy : Tsal-Rolpa-Dan . Secret Sound belongs to the most secret mode of our Primordialy pure energy , manifesting as Sambhogakaya . Those of us who practice sadhana : Shitro Yoga of peaceful and wrathful manifestations by Dzogchen master Mingyur Dorje know exactly what is being refered here . Dharma practice must be done with enthusiasm and joy : nobody is forcing you to practice the Dharma path , everyone is responsible for his or her own Enlightenment . Shakyamuni Buddha said : »I show you the path, but liberation depends on you .« Therefore Buddhist path is so unique way out of samsara or cyclic existence : it doesn*t depend on any creator god , but on our own effroets, our own wisdom and intelligence , on the blessings of the Buddhas who already followed this enlightened Path long before us …Lets*s follow on Their Footsteps . 1.7. Why is this Ati yoga Dzogchen lineage endangered ?
Ancient generations of Dzogchen practitioners attained Rainbow body of great transference : Garab Dorje, Manjushrimitra, Shri Singha , Padmasambhava, Yeshe Tsogyal, Senge Wangchuk . Next generations attained Rainbow body : terton Nyala Pema Dundul and many others . Other Ati yoga practitioners and masters accomplished Rainbow body with remainders : Ayu Khandro and many others … also in recent centuries .
Why are accomplishments not increasing but decreasing ? Its my firm beleive that the main reason is this : nowdays almost nobody teaches how to unite the View with meditation and Activities . Although Dzogchen lineage holder gave this very clear advice :
»Descend with the View, ascend with the conduct«
This is most neglected teaching in present century !
People hallucinate about high View of emptiness and clarity like they have high altitude sickness , but their conduct /behaviour remains like ordinary samsaric beings . Dzogchen developed into a intellectual phylosophy , not much into the way of living . Dzogchen was kidnaped by intellectuals who include into it their own delluded ideas and wrong views . Since Shakyamuni Buddha is lineage holder of Ati yoga Dzogchen, he taught the Eightfold noble path and the Four noble truths to be essential part of Buddhist Dharma . There is no contradiction between basic Buddhist teachings and Ati yoga Dzogchen then . Even more to understand when we remember that Garab Dorje was emanation of Shakyamuni Buddha !
And Shakyamuni Buddha taught the basic Buddhist ethics included in Five precepts (Skt: pancasila) . This must be known to all practicing Buddhists .

GO VEGAN = SAVE LIVES !

I am not moralising at all ! But nowdays in this Kali yuga when you mention Buddhist ethics of pancasila people might laught at you ! What is this »traditionalist« telling us ?! We are free to do as we please ! Never doing any prostrations to Buddha Shakyamuni they can not lower theri arrogant egos at all . Maybe the »crown of dellusions« would fall from their heads if they would practice prostrations to Shakyamuni Buddha . Somebody who is not able to understand why keeping the Five ethical precepts of Buddhism are important for him or her, certainly doesn*t have the capacity to practice the View and meditation of Ati yoga Dzogchen . Particullary people who eat animal food , drink alcohol , use drugs etc . lack the Bodhicitta and awareness . Buddhist path of enlightenment is much swifter to accomplish when one has devotion to the Buddhas , not only intellectual understanding , but devotion from the heart . Remember that Mind to Mind transmission between the buddhas happens through Devotion and is hearable as Natural sound of your innate pure Buddha nature .

1.8. Ati yoga Dzogchen Upadesha instructions are self-secret . You might read them here, but you are not able to comprehend . Those who have purified energy , can understand . Fort them these instructions are crystal clear like the buddha on the palm of their hand … To those who don*t yet comprehend , may these instructions serve as wake up call , like bamboo stick (Japanese zen stick Kyosaku ) on their shoulders ! It is my uttermost wish that the English translation of Dra Thal Gyur tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha , published by Chris Wilkinson, serve as a reminder to contemplate the Penetration of secret Sound in ourselves. These sacred text should never become dry speculation of intellectuals and other nihilists .

  • One Hundred Thousand Buddhas Confession is little known hidden treasure of terton Nyala Pema Dundul in countries of Europe, USA, Australia end elsewhere. Chogyal Namkhai Norbu is teaching important treasure of Nyala Pema Dundul : Union of Primordial Essences as part of international Dzogchen communities Collective practices.

I received lung/reading transmission of this hidden treasure from Chogyal Namkhai Norbu at Merigar/Italy  in June 1989, later also detailed teachings and explanations of U.P.E. It makes me happy to see that Yeshe Jamtso Rinpoche from Yarchen gar in China published One hundred thousand Buddhas confession – hidden treasure of Nyala Pema Dundul. As Nyala Pema Dundul himself said : his teaching will first  spread to China and then to other countries. Guru Padmasambhava is teaching about Ten enlightened activities: first of them is copying scriptures for free distribution .

In this sense we re-print Yeshe Jamtso Rinpoches explanation about importance of reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession. May you, the Reader, be inspired to read it aloud regularly. As it is said: »Discovered by Master Pema Dundul. This teaching is an effortless way. In one lifetime, your body of affliction will turn into light. These miraculous words were the spontaneous manifestation of master’s awareness. They are Dharmakaya relics of Master Pema Dundul.«

…« In 1872, the water-monkey year of the fifteenth sexagenary cycle, Pema Dudul set out for Katok Monastery. Along the way, he gave empowerments and teachings at Tsela Wangdo (tshe lha dbang mdo) and made an extensive feast offering at Nyinggyi Lung (snying gi lung).

On the new-moon day of the fourth month of the same year, at a place near Yetse Lha (ye tshe lha) or Sumdo (sum mdo), Pema Dudul gathered his disciples. He blessed them, performed prayers for them, and told them to return their respective dwellings, instructing them not to disturb him for a week. During that time, the sky was said to have been full of rainbows; tradition relates that when his disciples opened his small tent a week later, they found only his robes, mat, hair, and nails. Due to this he is said to have been the last among the one hundred thousand yogis of Katok who successfully attained the rainbow-body.

Nyala Pema Dundul Stupa

A gilded reliquary stupa was built by his disciples, headed by Lama Taye, at Kelzang Monastery. The stupa was filled with Pema Dudul’s scarce remains, his vajra, kīla, Padmasambhava relics and other sacred substances.

Pema Dudul’s most prominent disciples included Terton Sogyel Lerab Lingpa(gter ston bsod rgyal las rab gling pa, 1856-1926); Adzom Drukpa Drodul Pawo Dorje (a ‘dzom brug pa ‘gro ‘dul dpa’ bo rdo rje, 1842-1924); the Second Dzaka Choktrul, Kunzang Namgyel (dzaH ka mchog sprul 02 kun bzang rnam rgyal, d.u.); Gargyi Wangchuk (gar gyi dbang phyug, 1858-1930); Trulzhik Chomden Dorje (‘khrul zhig bcom ldan rdo rje, d.u.); Nyala Rangrik Dorje (nyag bla rang rig rdo rje, 1847-1903);

  • THE RAINBOW BODY

Then, on the new moon day of Saga Dawa in the Male Water Monkey year (1872) of the fifteenth Rabjung, as he was nearing the end of life, in the region of Tromyul Nyin, he spoke thus to his disciples:

“Deluded activities springing from ambitions for this life; imitation virtuous actions of the eight worldly dharmas; meaningless chatter about “the view”; mistaken meditation; insane, disturbed behavior; sectarian discrimination; benefiting others for the sake of one’s own profit and fame–be rid of all of them. They will never be the cause of Buddhahood. 

Crush the head of the eight worldly dharmas. Renounce the activities of this life. Don’t be proud and superior, practice the Secret Mantra in secret. Mix your mind-stream with compassion and the twofold benefit of self and other will be spontaneously accomplished- then this old man’s hopes will be fulfilled. 

It is said that Padma Sambhava sleeps at the door of the faithful, and the same applies to me. Don’t err ! Don’t err ! Work hard! ” He concluded with a recitation of the verse which begins, “In all my rebirths may I be inseparable from the sublime lama…” and other prayers, and said, “Sew me inside my tent and for seven days no one is allowed to come.”

✿ღ ✿⊱╮♫♪☻Nyala Pema Dundul Lineage ✿ღ ✿⊱╮♫♪☻

After seven days, the earth shook three times and the sky filled with rainbows and points of light. Cymbals crashed from above, delicious scents wafted from every direction, and many other wondrous signs appeared. When the disciples opened the door of the tent the Saint had disappeared, leaving only his hair, finger- and toenails, clothing and seat behind. 

He had followed in the footsteps of the accomplished saints of the past in India and Tibet, and had manifested the fruit of the Secret Mantra Ancient Translation Teaching of the Clear Light Great Perfection: the rainbow body.

One hundred days later, he appeared clearly before his chief spiritual son, Rigbi Dorje (Rig-Ba’I rDo-rJe). Through the realization of a dakini symbol, the mind of lama and disciple merged into one, Rigbi Dorje’s realization became equal to the sky, and he worked limitlessly to benefit beings. 

He continued the Dharma teaching of the precious Great Saint, and with the help of innumerable holy lamas erected a two-story reliquary stupa on the grounds of Kalsang Monastery. The hair, fingernails and clothing were sealed inside.

Secret teachings, the profound Dharma and self-liberation pervading space

A quick path to instantaneous complete enlightenment—-recitation of Buddha names to eliminate negative actions and obscurations.

For the benefit of sentient beings pervading space, I prostrate and take refuge in the oceanic assembly of Gurus who have nine lineages, four and six sections of tantra Mandala Deities, and dakinis of the Mother Tantra.

1.5 How supreme One Hundred Thousand Buddhas Confession is

One hundred thousand Buddhas confession—instantly attaining Buddhahood is a terma teaching discovered and transmitted by the great lineage holder Pema Dudul. It is a very important teaching in the Great Perfection. When Pema Dudul discovered this teaching, his motivation was to help all sentient beings in the world of the Five Turbidities, because in a world like this, the most helpful teaching is this one. Listening to it, hearing it and seeing it will liberate from the samsara. This teaching is supreme.

Nowadays, sublime beings of different schools in Tibet are all promoting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession. In Tibet, Han Region and western countries, people are reciting this teaching. This teaching has been translated into Chinese, English and many other languages so as to let more people realize its merit.

It is a very simple teaching. You may practice just by reciting it. It is not necessary to apply the three supreme methods: start with the thought of bodhicitta, do the practice itself without any conceptualization and dedicate the merit at the end. Just reciting is fine. One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is a very simple, very supreme and very complete teaching.

Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is very good for purification of negative actions. No matter they are vows of the Pratimoksa, vows of the shramanera, vows of the bhiksu or vows of Vajrayana, no matter which of these vows are contravened, reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession will cleanse obscurations and purify negative actions.

One hundred thousand Buddhas confession is a teaching of transference. All the negative actions we have done can be cleansed through reciting the teaching. Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession once will accumulate as mush merit as meeting in person with thousands of Buddhas and be blessed to take rebirth in the western Buddhafield, the Blissful and Buddhafield of the Five Dhyani Buddhas. It should be recited daily without interruption. No matter it is animals, relatives, friends, vajra brothers or sisters and people we know or we don’t, at the moment of their passing away, reciting this teaching in their ears will be of great help. At present, the world is full of abortion. This is a very serious issue. Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession once will not only perform transference to aborted babies, but also cleanse your own negative actions and obscurations. We should recite it persistently. This

teaching will greatly benefit all aspects. Purifying negative actions through reciting this teaching will automatically remove all kinds of obscurations for you. Especially when you ask for health, harmony in your family and success in your work, reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession will work well for you.

You should recite One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in places where there are many sentient beings. Even if you couldn’t finish the entire teaching, reciting one or two Buddha names from the teaching would eventually liberate sentient beings that have listened to it. Although they are not going to attain Buddhahood instantly, when the chances of affinity mature, they will attain Buddhahood in the future, or in their afterlives. You should all keep reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession everyday. People who don’t practice Buddhism could recite; people who don’t have trust in Buddhism could recite; people who don’t believe in samsara and the law of cause and effect could recite. Why? Because you will attain liberation through listening to this teaching. Reciting just once will be very beneficial.

When reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in the mountains, the air you breathe out from your mouth will be carried by wind to sentient beings on whom seeds of liberation will be planted. This is a teaching of liberation. One hundred thousand Buddhas confession has the merit of liberating from listening.

Reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession in crowded places like a supermarket will liberate sentient beings from samsara through having them listen to the teaching. We should have One hundred thousand Buddhas confession tie Dharma affinity with more people. Once someone ties Dharma affinity with the teaching, he will certainly take a look. If he sees guru’s photo,he ties the Dharma affinity. If Om mani padme hum are seen by eyes, seed of liberation will be planted in one’s heart. If your family members are not willing to practice Buddhism, It will be great if you can try to get them reciting One hundred thousand Buddhas confession. Reciting once will plant a seed of liberation in their hearts. This is the biggest help and the real help to them. I want you to take this “job” as your responsibility. This is my teaching.

1.6 . Another teaching Rinpoche has been transmitting is called One Hundred Thousand Buddha Confession. Hearing this teaching will liberate one from samsara. Reciting it will cleanse obscurations, help one be reborn in the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha, and liberate one from samsara. Everyone can recite the teaching no matter one has received the transmission or not. It will be of great help even without preliminary practice, dedication of merit or the three noble principals. This is a rare terma teaching discovered by the venerable master Pema Dundul for helping sentient beings in the world of Five Turbidities. Pema Dundul predicted that this teaching would first spread to Mainland China then to the whole world.

The prayer Recitation of Hundred Thousand Buddha names for Repentance was a terma revealed by Nyala Pema Dundul. At the time of revelation, Pema Dundul had the following aspiration: ‘The world now is a very tumultuous and impermanent world. Many people are severely afflicted by the five kleshas and are very biased against many things in life. As such, this terma will be a great help to this world.’ This terma was also concealed under the same aspiration of being able to help all the beings of the world in this era.
《十萬名懺》是白瑪鄧燈尊者伏藏出來的,白瑪鄧燈尊者取出這個伏藏的時候,他的發心是:現在這個世間是一個非常不好的世間、無常的世間,大家分別心很重、貪嗔癡慢疑五毒熾盛的世間,這樣的世間幫助最大的就是這個法。這個法在伏藏的時候發心就是必須要幫助這個時候這個世間的一切眾生而伏藏的。

After the revelation of this terma, Buddhists and accomplished monks and masters from many countries have been using this terma as a means of benefitting beings, to help liberate the dead, for repentance, for taking rebirth in the pure lands. This is what this terma can do.
取出這個伏藏後,有很多國家、很多高僧大德和所有學佛的人都用這個法來超度,用這個法來懺悔,用這個法來往生淨土,這個伏藏就是這樣的一個法。

It will be very good if every one of you here can recite this daily without breaks. Non-Buddhists can recite this as well, and so can people without faith in the terma or Buddhism, as well as those who do not believe in karma or reincarnation. Why? It is because this terma has the property of being able to confer liberation upon hearing and reciting. Even hearing it once will confer benefits.
以後你們每天不間斷地念非常好,不學佛的人可以念,沒有信心的人可以念,不相信因果、不相信輪回的人也可以念。為什麼呢?因為這個法是聽解脫 、聞解脫,只要念一次就能受益。

There will be times when you travel to cities with many people and will not be able to recite the whole terma completely. But even if you only recall a word or two, a buddha’s name or two from within the terma, and can recite it, any being who hears the recitation will be able to gain liberation in some way or another. This is due to the fact that, by doing this we have already planted a seed for Buddhahood in his heart. This being may not be able to attain Buddhahood immediately, but he eventually will – no matter how slowly he progresses towards this endpoint. This is the merit that this terma possesses. 
還有你們到城市裡去,在很多人的地方,你不能完整地念,但是這時只要想起裡面的一個字、兩個字、一句聖號、兩句聖號,想起聖號的時候你們可以念,這樣念下去的時候,聽到的眾生決定有解脫。為什麼呢?因為已經在他的心裡放了一個成佛的種子,雖然不可能立即成佛,但是慢慢慢慢地,將來他會成佛的,未來世他會成佛的。這個法的功德就是這樣。

In places with many beings – be it during animal liberation activities or in the supermarket, it will be a very good time to recite this terma! Be it during the wake of a family member, relative, friend or vajra brother after their death, reciting this terma in their ears just once will benefit them greatly in terms of taking rebirth in Sukhavati (pure land). The explanation of this merit has already been documented in the footnotes of this terma. Take a look and read it clearly. This is how superb this prayer is!
在很多眾生的地方,不管是放生,還是到超市裡裏裏去,這時念這個法非常好!不管是自己家人、親戚朋友還是金剛道友去世的時候,只要在他的耳邊念一次,對他往生極樂世界非常好。為什麼呢?因為這個法的功德裡面都已說明,底下有注解,你們看清楚就對了。《十萬名懺》就是這樣非常好的一個法!

1.7.  The Merits of the Recitation of Hundred Thousand Buddha names for Repentance Prayer《十萬名懺》之功德 (2)

Furthermore, we have a problem at hand which truly goes against the dharma teachings and that is the issue of fetal abortion. People who perform abortion or have abortions need to pray for repentance and purification using this prayer. The karmic obstacles from abortion will be cleansed through the reciting of this prayer. This is why it is a must to recite it. It will be good if we can recite it many times a day. Even when we are very busy and unable to spare much time, just a few seconds spent for one recitation will still be very good. I hope that everyone can do it.
還有,我們現在有一個非常不如法的問題——墮胎的問題。墮胎的人必須通過這個法來懺悔。念這個法業障會消掉,因此這個必須要念,一天念很多次非常好,但是無論怎樣沒有時間,花幾秒鐘念一次也是很好的,這個大家都必須要做。

This terma prayer is exceptionally good for clearing karmic obscurations. Why is this so? When Nyala Pema Dundul revealed all the termas on Dzogchen, he said this himself, ‘The dharma I have taught and revealed will be spread to the Chinese lands in sixty years’ time from now. From there, it will be further transmitted to countries overseas.’ Nyala Pema Dundul is a greatly accomplished Buddhist master in Tibet and he has predicted that the Dzogchen dharma from his lineage will spread through the world and be propagated in this manner. According to his predictions, we know that now is the time to practice this dharma. We have very good karmic connections with his dharma.
這個法懺悔業障非常好。為什麼這個懺悔好呢?白瑪鄧燈尊者伏藏出來的所有大圓滿法的時候,他親自說過︰我的法,六十年後會傳到漢地,再傳到國外去。白瑪鄧燈尊者是藏地的高僧大德,說過大圓滿的法將會這樣傳播和弘揚。按照尊者上面的授記,現在正是學這個法的時候,我們現在學這個法非常有緣分。

The fruit we achieve after practicing this dharma is that of liberation (from samsara). But take note that we should not practice this dharma with only the aspirations of the human and heavenly beings, which is useless, but with the great aspirations of bodhisattvas and that of wishing to take rebirth in Sukhavati. This is very important.
學了這個法得到的就是解脫的果報。但是如果我們現在用人天乘的發心來學這個法沒有用,我們需要菩薩道、往生極樂世界的發心來學這個法,這是非常重要的。

Also, our luck and blessings will be increased further after we have made repentance of our sins. Be it good fortune for the family in terms of money, increasing the children’s intelligence, for the good health of family members, this terma is beneficial in these ways when recited. Why? This is because, after the karmic obscurations get purified through the recitation of this prayer, the other matters in life will then achieve perfection. This is one of its merits as well.
還有,懺悔好了之後自己的福報越來越增加,家裡需要增加福報,無論需要發大財也好、小孩開智慧也好,還是幫助家人身體健康也好,不論哪個方面念這個法都非常好。為什麼呢?因為這個法懺悔掉一切業障之後,其他所有事情全部都能圓滿,念了這個法有這樣的功德。

Furthermore, when reciting this prayer on a mountain or highland, the wind and air breathed out from our mouths, carried far away to other places, will be able to plant a seed of liberation on any being it touches. This is a terma of liberation! This is liberation upon hearing! That is why reciting this prayer is good.
還有呢,在高山或山上的地方念這個法的時候,嘴巴裡面呼出的氣,隨風吹到哪個眾生身上一次,這個眾生身上就放了一個解脫的種子。這個就是一個解脫經!這就是聽聞解脫!因此念這個非常好 。

1.1. By browsing Facebook and Google about Buddhist masters who promote the vegan diet and oppose eating animal food, I discovered this great and very interesting answers by Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche who is the third son of late Kangyur Rinpoche. Rinpoche is one of those virtuous Buddhist masters who openly and directly oppose eating of animal food among the human population on this planet. Another great Lama was Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche who passed into nirvana few year ago at the age of 103 years. Half of his life Rinpoche was a vegan and he also saved four hundred millions of animals by releasing them, saving them from butchers, fishers etc.
Great inspiration for us is guru Nyala Pema Dundul who accomplished Rainbow body at the age of 56 in 1872.

IMAGINE. how many more lives of animals could be saved if all Buddhist teachers taught actively and by their own example of giving up meat and dairy food! More than six hundred Buddhist worldwide would soon become vegetarians and later vegans. Many Buddhists in Asia don*t know the difference between vegetarian and vegan: I try to teach them whenever I can: vegetarians still eat dairy food and eggs (which is animal food); vegans eat only plant-based food.

I sincerely believe that such virtuous activities must be circulated widely on the internet and in public to inspire more people to stop eating animal food, thus saving the planet. Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche has deep and modern insights, revealing them to all of us in a peaceful and respectful way. We congratulate him and wish all the best for his Dharma activities. Nowadays its really not necessary to eat animal food: there are numerous internet sites promoting healthy plant-based diets for everyone. 1.2. Great Being Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche (son of Kangyur Rinpoche) speaking about animals and consuming meat:
Question: “What do you think of a plant-based diet?”

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: “Oh, I think it’s fine. I have never eaten meat in my whole life, and I haven’t had any dairy or eggs, for now, fifteen years;
I am still alive”

Question: “What’s your thought about the environmental destruction and danger caused by animal agriculture in the world?”
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „About this, I don’t have the right numbers, but I have read it, that the cattle production is responsible for a real big part of our environmental pollution. So, it’s really not what I think of it, it’s more what facts are produced by the scientists…it’s not what to think, it’s just…how can we say… it’s a fact.”
Question: “Do human beings have anything superior or more important or valuable than animals so that we have rights to use animals in whatever way we wish?”

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „Well, in the face of suffering, whether we are human or animals, we are exactly the same, and also in that, we want to be happy, we are exactly the same, so in that way, there is no inferiority or superiority. Now because a cat might fall from a high place and not break its legs, from that point of view I am really inferior, and in certain point of view I have certain abilities, that the cat does not have, but those are irrelevant; really what is more relevant is: Do I want to suffer? Do I want suffering to continue? I definitely don’t. And I don’t have to know cat language or dog language or cow language for the cow to communicate that to me. That is very easy to understand that a cow does not want to be in pain.
Question: “Do we human beings have any responsibility as an individual in working for releasing the pain of those animals who are suffering due to man-made problems, and why?”
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: “So, of course, we do, – mainly because we are abler than the animals. So definitely we are, of course, we do have a responsibility because I think of responsibility as the ability to respond. We do have the ability to respond. And why? Because we are more able to respond to relieving the suffering than animals themselves.”
Question: “What are the solutions to reduce the abuse, ….. a killing of so many animals on the planet who are suffering factory farms due to human desires?
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „I think I can say nothing else but: Information, information, information. For example, when I saw how some of the animals were treated, my response now to animals is so different to prior watching those documentaries on how animals are treated. So definitely I noticed that information, knowing what is, is what I was lacking.“
Question: „Is there such a thing that we may call humane methods of slaughter?“

Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „I think that question, that word „humane method of slaughter“ is an oxymoron. I don’t think, slaughtering is humane.“
Question: „In Buddhism, it is said there is a negative action only if there is the intention. In eating meat there is no intention to kill animals. It’s already dead when we buy it. So how do you explain that?“
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „You know, I was watching this documentary, there is something where some people ask some city children, where the milk is coming from? The answer: From the supermarket. Now for those kids, they don’t know. After they have seen, go to a farm seeing cows being milked, then I think they don’t have that question anymore. So I think, this question: If we don’t know, and I didn’t have that intention, then we could understand that. Otherwise, I don’t see this question ever being a real question.“ Because: In eating meat. if there is no intention to kill the animal…. so in eating meat there is no intention to kill the animal., but in eating meat there is an intention to eat the meat. And a meat comes from some animal – of course, if some animals shredded meat like shedding skin, it would be different. But if in order to have that meat we have to, how to say – bring pain to some animal and the animal has to die, – unless that information is not available to us, I don’t see how this kind of thinking can be right.“

Question: Buddha said that they should not accept meat that they have seen, heard or suspected that animals have been killed with the intention to be directly offered to us. So is there any fault by going to the market and buy meat for oneself. I just wonder if you could say something. His Holiness said, this is not directly killed and offered to us, but killed for meat!?“
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „Yes, killed for consumption!
Question: „So, could you make it clear?“
Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche: „it depends. It depends on whether that meat was killed for consumption or not. And it depends on when we buy it, whether we are a consumer, or if we are participating in that consumption or not. When we are participating in the line of that consumption, then it had been killed for us.”

All-knowing lords, buddhas of the past, present and future ,
Bless this practitioner with thoughts of roaming abroad ,
So that I may be free from the enemy of a homeland !

All you students connected by karma , listen well !

In towns , the way to freedom is obstructed by the five poisons,
In monastic assemblies, misuse of offerings blocks the path to liberation ,
While this mountain retreat is just like a celestial realm –
Do not leave this heaven of the rainbow body , O fortunate ones !

In towns, the way of accursed violence sprout and spread ,
In monastic assemblies , the bitter poison of intoxicants flows ,
While in mountain retreats , the wisdom born of meditation grows –
Never be without the meditative insight, O fortunate ones !

In towns , the patterns of delusion are distinct,
In monastic assemblies, the blossoming klesas are apparent,
While in mountain retreats, the flower of stainless purity are clear –
Never part from the flora of clear light , O fortunate ones !

Ordinary townsfolk commit the five boundless crimes ,
In monastic assemblies, samayas degenerate and vows are lost,
While in mountasin retreats, commitments remain as pure as crystal –
Never part from crystalline samaya , O fortunate ones !

Ordinary townsfolk eat only bad food and impure waste,
Monastic assemblies swallow the bitter pills of misused offerings,
While in mountain retreats, we savour samadhi*s bliss and emptiness –
Never neglect the nourishment of meditation, O fortunate ones !

Ordinary townsfolk delight in the company of friends and relatives ,
Monastic assemblies flatter and fawn over patrons ,
While in mountain retreats, we practice looking into our own minds –
Never let your minds waver from the practice , O fortunate ones !

Ordinary townsfolk sponsor religious rituals when the need arises ,
Monastic assemblies practice only for their own peace and happiness ,
While in mountain retreats, we follow the path of liberation for all beings –
Never part from the practice directed towards awakening ,

O fortunate ones !

Ordinary townsfolk guard their wealth and posessions ,
Monastic assemblies watch over offerings and donations ,
While in mountain retreats, we safeguard emptiness –
Never part from the practice of sunyata , O fortunate ones !

Monastic assemblies are misled by the maras of seduction,
While in mountain retreats, the heruka subdues all demons entirely –
Be sure never to part from the great and glorious heruka !

That is how it is , and what is more :
With their clamorous crowds , and noisy livestock ,
The life of a nomad is like a vast sea of evil deeds .
Market towns, where savage robbers filled with greed
Gather fort he sake of produce, women and supplies ,
And in order to trade flesh and alcohol,
Could never be what Buddha intended as a *monastery*.

Most of those wearing robes in these degenerate times ,
Keep the company of women who, they claim, are relatives –
But it*s tough to remain chaste under such conditions !

Determine clearly that all this is bound together with suffering –
This is my heart advice .

This song of regarding even two yak-hair tents as an enemy ,
And seeing solitude as a celestial paradise ,
Was sung upon the slopes of the heavenly Sky-fortress )Namkha Dzong)

May we see the qualities of solitude as just like those of a pure realm ,
And may those in their great hermitages ,

In one of previous Dharma teachings at the Heritage of Mankind
I wrote how Guru Amitayus transmitted Union of primordial essences sadhana (Tsedrub Gongdu) to Guru Padmasambhava at the Maratika cave in Nepal :
»Hidden treasure of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo :
“Lord Amitayus at Maratika
And Maha Shri Heruka at Yanglesho
Bestowed upon me with the natural sound of dharmata
This sole quintessence of all the oral instructions.
If Garab Dorje, Shri Singha, the Eight Vidyadharas,
And all the supreme siddhas from whom I received the stages of the path
Were to hold a great Dharma discussion with one another,
There would be no other summary-manual than this compiling their realization.
Throughout the countries of Uddiyana, India, Tibet and elsewhere,
This is the unmistaken condensed meaning
Of all the infinite profound and extensive wheels of the Dharma
Such as guru sadhana, the Great Perfection,

Avalokiteshvara and the Eight Sadhana Teachings.
In short, there does not exist an ultimate instruction other than this.
Expressed in few words yet including all that should be expressed.
Easy to comprehend and convenient to practice,
Without depending on anything else, it perfects the paths for those of lower, medium and higher faculties.
This is the self-resounding tantra of dharmata, the indestructible essence,
From the space of luminosity in the five-colored sphere within the heart of me, Padmasambhava.
It is the path traversed by all the buddhas of the three times.
Praised by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo as being more valuable than thirty yak loads of scriptures, the Lamrim Yeshe Nyingpo comprises together with the commentary by Jamgon Kongtrul, the important last volume in both the collections of termas and teachings renowned as Rinchen Terdzo and New Treasures.”

                         ATIYOGA*DZOGCHEN ♫ ♫ SECRET SOUND OF DHARMATA

It was transmitted through the Natural Sound of Dharmata (Chonyid kyi rangdra) . Guru Padmasambhava transmitted it to terton Nyala Pema Dundul and he to Ayu Khandro and other close students . Ayu Khadro transmitted it to Chogyal Namkhai Norbu . Rinpoche gave Buddha Amitayus U.P.E. teaching and transmissions at Merigar Dzogchen community in Italy , summer 1994 . I obtained transmission of U.P.E. at that time .
In 1994 there were no internet webcast and we had to travel for 900 km to attend in person .
With great devotion , researching English translations of terton Nyala Pema Dundul teachings , I was very glad to see few texts by this enlightened master at Lotsawa house .
Made a printed copy of THE HEAVEN OF SOLITUDE and took it with me to Summer montain retreat at Kope mountains , above the city of Slovenj gradec in NE part of Slovenia, European Union .
There is 4th heat wave this summer with temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius in the lowlands . I travelled two hours with the car which was exhausting because of heat . 12 km road up to the mountain is in bad shape and need to be repaired . My first Mountain retreat here was in October 2014, so I remembered the road . But for first visitors its really difficult , because there are no road signs or other inscriptions … I was drinking a lot of distilled water that day, probably more than 4 l , so I avoided dehidration ! It was 8th lunar day, Monday July 31, 2017 , dedicated to Medicine Buddhas and Arya Tara .
Found good room at the hotel Lukov dom , with view toward the wall made of natural stones and with wood above . Fortunately I was alone in the room and good wi-fi internet connection .

Kope 2

I really like this wall and natural stones , but I am not on Chan retreat like patriarch Bodhiodharma who was starring at the wall outside and contemplating Buddha nature inside  Next day I was already on my way to the peak Velika Kopa !

◎⊙ღ๑۩۞۩๑ღ⊙◎‿ ↗⁀❁ its not so easy to go from 1000 m to 1532 m in heat with more than 30 degrees Celsius, carrying 10 kg rucksack , but one definitely need few l of water and vegan food , if you wish to enjoy 7 hours stay at the peak 🙂 After a while I remembered Vajra breathing with OM AH HUM and it was much easiler (wee need oxyigen !) Air is very good and fresh , because of many green woods producing a lot of oxygen . In Europe we now have 4th heat wave with temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius in the flatland , but in mountains its not so bad . At Kope mountain there was cooling wind which I enjoyed . Kope mountain has 12 energy points in accordance with eomancy of the place . Of course one must stand bare foot and still for 10 or more minutes to feel the energy of the ground . Point 12 is for all 7 chakras of our energy body , I was practicing slow Tai chi and Chi kung on that point . Most people just run through the top, making some photos and of we go 🙂 Which is actually stupid thing to do, after you walk up for 1 hour 🙂 But at least people don*t make too much noise on the mountain , because they are bussy running further or cherishing their kids 🙂

Below the peak there is nice meadow with Erika bushes and some spruce trees ,
So I found good meditation place below twelve energy point . Weather was completely clear and sunny with cooling wind . Nearby I noticed few ants hills where I was reading another hidden treasure of Nyala Pema Dundul : Confession to 100.000 Buddhas , published on the webpage of Yeshe Jamtso Rinpoche from Yarchen gar in Sichuan China . In previous incarnation Yeshe Jamtso Rinpoche was also close student of Nyala Pema Dundul .
On my second meditation at the Kope mountain peak I recited again Confession to 100.000 Buddhas near the ants hill . There were thousands of anst running at their hill . May they all be liberated through hearing .
It was also 10th lunar day, celebrating Birth of Buddha Padmasambhava .

said in his famuous book the White sail :
»While briefly lent this precious human body*s white sail
Pushed by clean intention*s gentle wind

supporting idea or example Solution to be free from the fetters of birth, aging, sickness and death is to
have faith in the Buddha and his spiritual teachings called Dharma .
After understanding that life is impermanent , we start with Buddhist spiritual
Path toward liberation from cyclic existence of repeated births and death
in samsara . This spiritual process continues over many lives , not only one life .
When we are reborn as humans and we practice the Buddhist teachings in
our daily lives, we have precious human body, precious human life which
should not be wasted . In this life we should accumulate merit or positive energy
and consequently wisdom . We should avoid negative actions of body , speech
and mind and accumulate positive actions . Buddha nature is in us and in every
sentient being . We must discover it and gain confidence in our Buddha nature .

Shakyamuni Buddha made a prophecy in the Maha Parinirvana sutra :
“When I passed beyond this world of sorrow, three hundred sixty
years from now in Udiyana , land of braided people , to the daughter of the
monarch Uparaja will appear a yogi child without a father who is blessed by
Buddha Vajrasattva and bear the name of Delightful Vajra .
He will spread doctrine of the Ati Yoga teaching . “
Maha Parinirvana sutra is one of very important Mahayana or Great vehicle
sacred text of Buddhism extensively studied in Pure land Buddhism .
Its also very relevant in Ati Yoga Dzogchen lineage of Buddhism .
supporting idea or example Another emanation of Shakyamuni Buddha was Guru Padmasambhava .
According to terma or hidden treasures lineages Padmasambhava was born
on the lotus , on the sacred syllable Hum which was shining from the Heart
of Amitabha Buddha . Vajrayana Buddhists , esp. Nyigmapa chant every
10th lunar day Invocation of Guru Padmasambhava or Seven –line prayer which
begins with :

HUM Urgyen yulgi nab chan tsam/ Hum On the pistil of the lotus …
In 8th Century A.D. in Tibet 25 disciples of Guru Padmasambhava attained
Rainbow Body thus transcending birth, aging, sickness and death .
Also few following generations of Nyingma masters attained Great transfer
or Phowa Chenpo of Light Body , disappearing immediately from the material
realm and being visible only to people with wisdom eyes …Later generations of Nyingma
masters attained Rainbow body at the time of passing away , slowly
diminishing their material body into Light . Such was the attainment of
famuous Nyala Pema Dondul from East Tibet in 2nd part of 19 Century (1872) .
In recent years Buddhist practitioners also attained the Rainbow body .
Khenchen Pentse Rinpoche , Buddhist master whom I met personaly in Vienna
in Austria where he gave extensive Buddhist initiations and transmission
of sacred text Manjushri-nama-samgiti had many miracles when he passed
away in 2002 : “ Following his passing a remarkable story emerged.
Many years prior to his passing, Khenchen Padma Tsewang had given a blessed
bottle of water to a devoted lay person. The water was wrapped in a silk prayer
scarf (khata) and had remained untouched for years. Eventually the devotee
removed the khata and discovered that the water had been completely
transformed into white, pearl-like relics. He brought the relics to Khenchen
Padma Tsewang and was instructed to keep them hidden. The relics were
only revealed after the passing of Khenchen Padma Tsewang. The devotee
returned the relics to Pukang Monastery to be distributed among the students.
This incredible story became widely known throughout Tibet—to this day,
the relics continue to grow and to be given away. The life of Khenchen Padma
Tsewang continues to inspire many followers and serves as an example of the
conduct and wisdom of a great practitioner.”

QUESTION 3. Mankind has been suffering due to birth, aging, sickness and death. Can we say a scripture is a guide for the mankind, if it doesn’t explain a way to be free from birth, aging, sickness and death?
Main point
(max 3 sentences) Buddhist sacred texts give precise teachings how to become free from birth ,
aging, sickness and death . Therefore they are a GUIDE for the mankind .
We call Ati Yoga Dzogchen Guide for the evolution of humanity !
supporting idea or example In the Bardo Guidebook it is said : “ What can others do for someone who has
passed away ? Many things can be done to help the dying person : different
rituals can be performed ; certain substances can be put into the mouth of the
dying person ; the Liberation through hearing in the bardo can be recited and
a sacred image called Liberation through wearing can be attached to the body …”
We also practice Shitro sadhana with many Vajrasattva mantras and
visualisations to help them . This is done not only for humans , but also for
animals . Another helpful Buddhist practice is singing of the Vajra song :
benefits are described in the Union of Sun & Moon tantra of Dzogchen Upadesha .
Every place where Vajra song is practiced becomes a sacred place . Everyone
who hears the Vajra song has good karmic connection which will help him on
the spiritual path of liberation and enlightenment .

I. INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR CONTEMPORARY BUDDHIST STUDIES

Topic : Birth, Aging, Sickness and Death
Question 1. What is the difference of the teachings of Birth, Aging, Sickness, and Death, between religious texts and and secular studies?
Main point
 No secular study has such knowledge and wisdom about birth, aging, sickness and death as precisely explained in Buddhism. These sacred Texts are unique to Buddhism , esp. to Vajrayana Buddhism and Ati yoga Dzogchen .
supporting idea or example Buddhist Dharma teachings about birth, old age, sickness and death are really extensive, huge and very important . I three minutes limited time I can give presentation I a nutshell. Vajrayana Buddhism and Ati yoga Dzogchen teaches about four or six Bardos : bardo of this life /Kyene bardo, bardo of dreams /Milam bardo, bardo of dying and luminous bardo of dharmata/chonyid bardo . Bardo in Tibetan means “in between state” . Buddhism also teaches about reincarnation or rebirth in one of the six realms of samsara or cyclic existence . When we are born in human realms and we have freedom and endowments to practice Buddhist Dharma and have faith , we have precious human body . There is famuous Bardo Thodol or Tibetan book of death . Bardo Thodol means liberation upon hearing in the bardo . This sacred text was revealed by treasure revealer Karma Lingpa in 14th century A.D. It’s a living transmission , giving precise explanations about the process of dying : dissolution of elements of our physical body and experiences related to this dissolution . Bardo Thodol also gives precise explanation about 58th peaceful and 42 wrathful deities appearing to Buddhist practitioners during the period of 49 days after death, giving unique possibilities to be liberated into Pure realms of the Wisdom deities of Sambhogakaya dimension .

Question 2. What is the origin of life (Birth) and the root cause of Aging, Sickness and Death?
Main point
For ordinary beings origin of life/birth is attachment to samsara or cyclic existence . For ordinary beings the root cause of aging , sickness and death is their individual karma and karmic body .
supporting idea or example:  Bodhisattvas are reborn in samsara intentionally to carry out specific mission – to teach the path of Enlightenment and to benefit numerous sentient beings . Our Buddha nature or Tathagathagarbha as called in Sanskrit never dies , is beyond birth , old age, sickness and death . Its important to directly recognize your primordially pure Buddha nature and to contemplate it . First Ati yoga Dzogchen master in human realm gave us precise instructions .

Question 3. Should the Scripture be able to identify why there is birth, aging, sickness and death?
Main point
Buddhists sacred texts precisely identify why there is birth, aging, sickness and death . It’s the teaching about IMPERMANENCE . The main cause of birth, aging, sickness and death is ignorance or unawareness , called Marigpa in Tibetan and Avidya in Sanskrit .
supporting idea or example Everyone who is not always in enlightened state of Rigpa , experiences karmic visions related to negative human emotions of pride , jealousy , passions , anger and ignorance . These negative emotions obscure enlightened state of our primordially pure Buddha nature . Vajrayana Buddhism teaches how to transform them into Five wisdoms and unite ourselves with meditational deities or Yidams of the Sambhogakaya dimension . There are specific empowermnets given by Buddhist masters of numerous Vajrayana Buddhist lineages related to Five Dhyani Buddhas of Sambhogakaya dimension and five wisdoms of enlightenment .
