GENTLE RAIN OF NECTAR BLESSINGS
TSOG OFFERING VERSE by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche II. (1904-1987) is 42. Visual Dharma published on our Buddhist channel of Youtube, to benefit beings limitless as the sky. This is sacred Buddhist text & must be treated with respect. Embeding brings enlightened energy to you, your place and the planet.
Essentials : Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche was supreme principal of Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhism & one of greatest mystics of 20. Century. This Visual Dharma is devoted to the continuation of Dudjom Rinpoche´s Dharmas upholded by Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche III. Pema Ösel , born in 1990 who wrote :
“With the compassionate Blessings of Guru Padmasambhava,
I pray that the Three wheels of Study, Practice and Activities
Of the doctrines of Clear Light of Dzogpachenpo
may be accomplished without any obstacles.” (1)
Making offerings (skt. Ganachakra, Tib. Tsog) to the Three Roots of Refuge (Lama,YidamKhandro) is one of ten enlightened activities as taught by Guru Padmasambhava. Special days for Tsog are : 10. lunar day of Guru Rinpoche & 25. the Dakini day. To accumulate merit and wisdom this Condensed Tsog should be recited daily. One should not practice Atiyoga Dzogpachenpo in self-centered style, as self-centered buddhas (rang-gyal)(2), just wrongly using Dzogchen terminology. One must have previous proper training (in previous lives or in this life) of Mahayana & Vajrayana Buddhist Path, to undestand natural awareness (rang-rig) or Rigpa. To say in computer language : Dharmakaya is not your private domain.
Wisdom Dakini dictated this supreme Verse to Dudjom Rinpoche in a dream, 1933 in Tibet. It is Upadesha – innermost secret cathegory – Todgal teachings of Dzogpachenpo. All-knowing Longchenpa wrote about Visions of clarity (Odsal gyi nang-wa) : “In this practice , one actualises the primordialy and spontaneously accomplished result in this very lifetime” (3). How to reverse delusive appearances into primordial ground (Dharmakaya) is taught by Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa, explaining the Four natural contemplations (Chog-zhag) : In the spontaneous accomplishment with form (Lhundrub Thodgal), having reversed (zlog) the delusions through such training as the “threefold glances” (zigs-tang), one meditates on perfecting the Fourfold Visions (Nang-zhi)…Lochen Dharma Sri summarizes : Relying on six crucial means of training, the four Visions arise gradually. They are :
1.Direct realisation of ultimate nature (Chonyid gon-sum)
2.Development of Experiences (Nyam Gong-phel)
3.Perfection of intrinsic awareness (Rigpa Tsad-Phebs)
4.Dissolution of phenomena into ultimate nature (Chonyid zad-pa).
Those Atiyoga meditators who were already directly intoduced to the naturaly liberated Sound*Light of Dharmata (Chonyid kyi rang-dra) in the Atiyoga Dzogpachenpo essence lineage, contemplate in silence before and after singing Tsog offering verse, to develop the Experiences. During four successive Visions the Four empowerments of Great perfection are received. PENETRATION OF SOUND DZOGCHEN TANTRA (4) also teaches precisely about the Four Visions, leading to enlightenment in the primordialy pure Youthful Vase Body (zho-nu bum-pa´i ku), great Buddha dimension of Reality. Dudjom Rinpoche II. wrote in a Prayer of Calling the Lama from afar :
“The essence is the primordially unchanging nature, free from mental activity.
Dwelling in the primordially pure Youthful Vase Body
Of profound inner luminosity,
Dharmakaya Lama Yeshe Dorje, care for me;
Please bestow the blessing of obtaining great confidence in the View.”

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS : watergrass5150 , USA, sent these questions :
“The monkey notice Buddha had reached the enlightment stage. He decided to bring buddha an offering. The monkey grab some honey combs and buddha rejects the offering saying babies bees are still alive and will not accept it. The monkey went back grab a sharp stick and started to poke all the babies bees. After killing and cleaning all of it from the combs, he filled the combs with sweet honey. He then went back to buddha and this time buddha accept the offering.
The monkey was so happy that he went on swinging from tree to trees. Shortly the monkey accidently fell down from one of the branches and landed on a sharp deaded stick. He was dead in an instant. When buddha heard about it he started to pray and suddenly the monkey spirit when up to heaven and reincarnated as one of the human’s angel. “
1. Did we see the monkey as a being who wants to please buddha or trying to please himself?
We see capricious monkey trying to please the Buddha and also himself. Monkey is portrayed in Samatha or Shine practice (calm abiding) as the capricious mind, jumping from one object of perception toward another object. It represent restless, wandering thoughts. Restless mind often perform unvirtuous karma of killing (refers also to eating meat !).
2. Why didn`t the monkey spare the lives of those bees?
Because he think only on himself and how he will make a gift to the Buddha. He don´t think on consequences of unproper offering. Restless mind is not aware of consequences of his doing. Restless mind lack clarity and awareness. It is said in Buddhist teachings : Mindfulness is the foundation of Dharma path. Therefore we don´t offer to the Buddhas anything that causes harm to sentient beings.
3. Did the monkey die shortly as to maybe a bad karma the way he killed those bees?
He died soon after he killed other sentient beings (the bees). Other religions also teach : As you sow thus shall you reap. This is universal law of cause, condition and consequences/effects. We must saw seeds of virtuous karma, creating merit, to become enlightened.
4. Why did buddha have compassion for the monkey? What about those babies bees?
Because he presented honey offering to the Buddha thus making connection with the Enlightened One. Buddha is also impartial in helping sentient beings, like the Sun who shines equaly on all. But it´s our virtuous or unvirtuous karma which allow us or prevent us to receive His guidance and compassionate help.
5. Why did the monkey get such a high rewards for his death?
Monkey made some merit by offering to the Buddha . Being reborn as an angel is not “reward” but consequence of his karma. Being reborn in upper realms of samsara is good, but it is not yet liberation from cyclic existence. In the Chinese classic : Journey to the West – monkey also represent arrogance.

II. WISDOM WITHOUT BORDERS
June 26 : International day against the misuse of drugs. As anyone knows : the use of tobacco, alcohol, meat and drugs is prohibited by Buddhist ethics (pratimoksha vows –pancasila ) taught by Buddha Shakyamuni and many enlightened Buddhist masters throughout 2500 years of history. Some readers may feel little bit offended when we point this out again and again in our Teachings and answers. But we will not change this ethical precepts only to please general public . Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche-the root Guru of Dudjom Rinpoche III. and His Eminence Sagar Rinpoche (Nepal) also teach the same. Dudjom Rinpoche II. wrote a treatise about harmful effects of tobacco and drugs. We all need to raise public awareness about harmful effects of drugs (and other poisons) which diminish mind´s clarity, obstructing Enlightenment.
June 27 : UNESCO Heritage of humanity : Congratulations to Mt. Wu Tai in China, with many Buddhist temples from 1.-20. Century A.D. for becoming Heritage of humanity, protected by the Unesco. We rejoice ! It is said that Atiyoga Dzogchen Master Vimalamitra resides invisibly at the five peaks of Wu Tai, sacred to Buddha Manjushri, the Buddha of wisdom. See Visual Dharma: Homage to Manjushri, Manjushri-nama-samgiti.
*Mt. Sun Shan in Hebei province of China , with famuous Shaolin Buddhist temple and practitioners, will become Heritage of humanity, protected by the Unesco, in 2010. We strongly support ! (See description of Visual Dharma : Buddhist Chi Kung Energy workout).
